Decoupling Bandwidth and Delay Properties in Class Based Queuing

چکیده
This paper presents the Decoupled Class Based Scheduling, a CBQ-derived scheduling algorithm. Main advantages of D-CBQ are a new set of rules for distributing excess bandwidth and the ability to guarantee bandwidth and delay in a separate way, whence the name “decoupled”; moreover D-CBQ guarantees better delay bounds and more precise bandwidth assignment. This paper presents D-CBQ main points and discusses the choices for the implementation of the algorithm.

متن کاملAchieving delay and throughput decoupling in distributed fair queueing over ad hoc networks
This paper describes an algorithm that achieves delay and throughput decoupling in distributed fair scheduling in multihop ad-hoc wireless networks. The solution allows to support both low-bandwidth, low-delay and high-bandwidth, high delay applications in a single framework, without wasting much bandwidth to realize the low-delay requirement. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our algorithm i...
متن کاملDecoupling congestion control and bandwidth allocation policy with application to high bandwidth-delay product networks
In this dissertation, we propose a new architecture for Internet congestion control that decouples the control of congestion from the bandwidth allocation policy. We show that the new protocol, called XCP, enables very large per-flow throughput (e.g., more than 1 Gb/s), which is unachievable using current congestion control. Additionally, we show via extensive simulations that XCP significantly...
متن کاملDesign of a Low-Latency Router Based on Virtual Output Queuing and Bypass Channels for Wireless Network-on-Chip
Wireless network-on-chip (WiNoC) is considered as a novel approach for designing future multi-core systems. In WiNoCs, wireless routers (WRs) utilize high-bandwidth wireless links to reduce the transmission delay between the long distance nodes. When the network traffic loads increase, a large number of packets will be sent into the wired and wireless links and can...
متن کاملEfficient fair queuing with decoupled delay-bandwidth guarantees
In this paper we introduce a new scheduling system with decoupled delay bound and bandwidth allocation guarantees. It is based on an existing efficient fair scheduler, Frame-based Fair Queueing (FFQ)[1], and therefore inherits the fairness, simplicity and efficiency of that policy. We combine a slightly modified version of an FFQ scheduler with the link sharing concept using rate estimator modu...
